Research
Our research program focuses on understanding the responses of climate at various scales, from the leaf level to the global scale. We study the impacts of environmental variables on winter wheat and corn, including changes due to extreme climate events.
I direct the research, education, and extension programs at the Office of the Kansas State Climatologist. Our research interests include climate data and climate change, bio-atmospheric interactions, and the impacts of climate on agriculture and natural resources. We use in-situ and remote observations, climate-crop modeling, and greenhouse gas flux measurements to advance sciences associated with climate change and climate variability.
